Capitol City Brewing Company is gearing up for the 17th Annual Mid-Atlantic OktoberFest. The event will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from noon-7 pm (taps shut off at 6 pm) in the Village at Shirlington. Over 65 breweries will be present, along with a variety of food vendors and festive music. All volunteers will get a tasting glass, 10 beer sample tickets, and a t-shirt. Each volunteer will work a 3-1/2 hour shift pouring tasty malt beverages at either 11:30 am-3 pm or 2:30-6 pm. Volunteers signing up for the 2nd shift can check-in anytime after the start of the Festival to enjoy themselves while it's less crowded prior to meeting up with their team captain for their afternoon shift. There are also positions to help with volunteer check-in; indicate your interest in this in the comments field.
IMPORTANT: All volunteers must sign up via online volunteer registration. First shift typically fills the first day registration opens. If you are volunteering with a group of 3 or more, you are required to pick a Team name and have each team member register separately and enter the team name in the Comments/Group Name field so that it's easy to assign you. Please make sure everyone requests the same shift. All members of the group should sign up as soon as possible as I cannot reserve spots. Keep in mind, that it is easier for me to find space for large groups on 2nd shift. For pairs, just enter your relative/friend/spouse/partner's name and I'll assign you to the same team. You will be notified no later than Tuesday, September 13th regarding your shift/team assignment. Note: All volunteers must be at least 21 years old.
